Whether to keep or sell my laptop?

I have been using vaio laptop for about 4years..Though i admit i rarely use it about once a week due to my desktop being my primary workhorse..Offlate i have been running into several issue with this laptop,i got webcam,keyboard replaced..then i now i am recently facing this problem that laptop doesnt turn on,it doesnt post,no sounds,no display etc..All i could hear is hdd spinning sound&DVD rom drive..Now took it to Sony centre,they have quoted some amount of 35k&up if mobo is available...Now am confused whether to proceed or sell it..though i am unsure if someone will be even buying if lappy is defective..Please help..

Sell it before it die completely. But about your problem, try out following... For no post or booting-Remove the battery and press power button for 5 seconds.. Then insert battery... Plug the main power... Keep it untoched for atleast 10 minutes.. Then press power button.. If above didn't work, try same procedure after replacing cmos battery. If it work/fail please update here.

Thanks...i suspect its the gpu gone bad,since when i power it up i could hear the hdd spinning noise,the lights turn on,also found on YT&google that nvidia gpu (8600series) have some issues of overheating..
