I am looking for a GSM prepaid mobile service provider in Delhi NCR area. I already have a postpaid mobile connection. This prepaid mobile connection will serve as an alternate mobile no. For my work related activities. Which GSM mobile service will be best for prepaid connection in Delhi NCR area. Also, if I roam a lot in India, will that factor into which kind of prepaid service I get?Right now, I'm not sure if I'll be making a lot of outgoing calls with this number.

i also need a similar suggestion 😀 have to port out from airtel. my requirements?reasonable call prices. reasonable 2G plan prices.no spam calls from customer care when i report spam texts.ability to do talktime and plan recharges online! 😀

I don't need data plans. This prepaid mobile will be used for voice (mostly incoming) in the beginning.

well i would personally suggest going for tata indicom. not sure why you want gsm when data is not required.

I already have a cheap gsm phone for this new prepaid mobile connection that I want to get. I don't want to spend extra cash on buying a phone

would still suggest considering cdma. phones are cheap. and quality of network is much better than most gsm operators out there. i am sitting in the basement here. for airtel i have to run upstairs to make or receive phone calls. on my tata indicom number? no such hassles.

I really don't want to spend more than 500 rupees on a new mobile setup. I doubt I can get hardware on that budget. I just want a cheap prepaid mobile connection for receiving incoming calls for my work related stuff. If I can't receive calls in a basement, I'll live with it. I'm on a tight budget. Don't want to spend on hardware when I can utilise old phone that I have lying around even if it is GSM.

So, back to my original question. What's the best prepaid GSM mobile service for NCR area?

Vodafone, by a long shot. No clue about call rates ! Dolphin has cheap call rates, but network quality isnt very good. So, if network quality is priority go for vodafone ! Every operator has some area (region) where coverage is bound to be poor.

Hmm, I've a Vodafone corporate post-paid connection. Do you think they will allow me to have another connection that is prepaid?
