DDB - digital direct broadcast

Has anybody seen this technology working anywhere in anything? i think Philips has come out with range of TVs with DDB but never mentioned its features.If they are trying to sell it as "integrated set top box" then whats the difference between videocon tvs. they too have integrated STB in TV and DVD players.If they have internet facility added so then why never mentioned anywhere in any advts? What are internet plans, do we have to pay monthly or one time cost with TV?If this technology is super excellent then why arent they coming out with a mind - blasting advertisements and campaigns???How is it different than other smart TVs?(as i cant see any separate topic for DDB, i am posting it into technology section)

I have seen this TV recently in home appliance exhibition conducted in Chennai...those DDB TV has a slot to put the Smart Card...they have inserted D2H VC card into it...
