Unveiled by KDDI as the HTC J Butterfly (HTL21), this Android 4.1 device is the first announced phone to feature a 5-inch, 440ppi full-HD "Super LCD 3" panel, and it's fittingly complemented by a 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 underneath, making this the latest member in the small family of Snapdragon S4 Pro phones. There's an eight-megapixel camera that naturally handles 1080p video at the back, accompanied by a 2.1-megapixel front-facing imager. Other details include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSDHC expansion, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 (LE), NFC, LTE and CDMA/GSM/UMTS/GPRS radios -- that's right, it's a global device. Not bad for a 140g package, and it's waterproof as well, rated at IPX5.

Well odd name for a phone ..'butterfly' Specs are amazing but why don't these companies work with google closely to get that 'iOS' experience. These specs will smoke iphone5 but most users don't want killer specs ..just a phone they love to use more. LEt HTC develop Sense in close collaboration with google so that new version of android with sense on top of it would release the same day as when google releases new version of android.

companies like htc and samsung believe that users buy their phones for the sense/touchwiz experience. and i am not kidding. htc actually said once that they want to make sense so good that customers would buy their device for sense instead of android (something on this line). so the point remains, these companies are not going to switch to stock android in the near or far future. their philosophy is that people would get used to touchwiz/sense and would find it hard to switch to a rival platform so would remain on their ecosystem in the future as well.

This is what am saying. Since these companies think along this line, why not work closely with google so that Android keylimepie with sense on top of it releases the same day google releases stock keylimepie.

whats happening is google releasing keylimepie and then HTC taking 2~3 months to add sense on top of it and then testing it and then releasing it for new models and some old models and customers waiting for it and all that. whereas iOS6 works even with devices 2 generations old whereas sonyericsson play released in 2011 is not qualified for ICS update let alone JB

when android is a freely available os, and because of google backing all major players are going to sell it anyway...........it becomes natural for makers to do something different to the os and make it distinctive from others.well they cannot make available the os fast enough as they have so many devices to test upon.....but they must do it somehow too.

what you are asking is similar to linus torvolds telling makers of linux distributions to do what he wants them to do :)

Linus created the Linux kernel. The core thing which is at the center of any Linux based distribution. It is available as an open source project. Anyone can use it for anything they want to. Now, there are hundreds of different Linux distributions. Linus has no relation to any of them. He uses the build he likes. He does not get to dictate what Linux distribution makers should do with their own products based on his creation. Google Android is similar. Google has some requirements that are required to be met to get access to their apps (Gmail, Maps etc.). Other than that they do not interfere with any other player.

Am not asking google to tell HTC to do anything. Just let HTC engineers involve in the development of google's next android version so that HTC guys can add sense right then and there and release it on the same day google releases its newest android versionFor example, at google event, google releases stock android version, HTC also releases andriod version with sense and samsung touchwiz version.
