check advertisement on page 7 of today's toi. I dont know how to put up that image here?If someone tells me how, I'll do that. It doesnt say what speed...but it says 299 bucks per month & unlimited. I am guessing it is dialup speed or maybe its 64kbps? Can anyone find out ???

probably?? can you call them & know for sure??? If anyone can find the accurate details, I am sure its you 🙂If it really is that much speed & does not fluctuate, I'll go for it. Or maybe you are just being cynic? hmm I dont know. I'll wait...
 
Garuda is baed on CDMA 2000 1x tech (Like Tata / Airtel or Reliance FWP/FWT). It has maximum bandwidth limit of 144 kbit/s. Technically it is a 3G network. But in India 3G spectrum is still not available. So all "public" deployments are on 2G spectrum.
 
I think Evdo is 3G for Cdma technology Not 1x

MTNL Garuda provides speeds upto 144 kbps, similar to Reliance.
 
If anyone actually has experience having garuda for atleast a month, then please post your stats.
 
We recently got a Garuda Unltd. Internet @ Rs299/- as a secondary backup connection. The phone is a FWP type Pantech/Hantel HTP-801 w/ XP driver that came with the phone. It does'nt connect faster than 28.8kbps!
Trying to remedy this, any help would be appreciated, thanks. Post here .
 
its actually 14.4kbps.the mtnl buggers got the ad wrong.....Its dial up speedI saw it at a friends place last year and he was promised 144kbps but never got even 14.45kbps so he returned the connection
 
have any one checkedlimewire, strong dc++, bitcomet, utorrent doesnt, sharekhan online, doesnt works many of the ports are not openeg: port 24390 for bitcomet (this is only xample many ports are closed by mtnl isp)download speed of the mtnl garuda is avg 18KBps which is ok in 299RSpmsurfing speed is not constant it varies frequently (very bad mtnl should to work on it)disconnect in between (hantel htp-801 1X) can be over come using at scriptin modem advance settings++right click- my computer>manage>device manager>modem>hantel usb modem>right click- properties>advanced++in extra initialization commands field writeAT+CTA=10click ok
