Still the app launched by youtube don't have quality control option .. On 3g the video quality is just bad ... There is no way to set the application to always show the video in HQ if available ..
On wifi it always show best quality but on 3g is automatically switches to a lower quality .
One cannot even clear search history ..
Although the UI is better than default iPhone app ..
