Mtnl Dsl On Wi-fi

I am using MTNL DSL via a D-Link 502T router, which is connected to my PC via Ethernet. Today I got a Macbook and now want to set up a Wi-Fi connection. Before I get a router I wanna know is it possible that I will be able to access Internet on my Mac without turning the PC on ? How secure will it be as I dont want to give neighbours free net access 😛 .
 
yup it works, i have a mac laptop as well. just make sure you enable SSID and you'll be fine.
