Does STB has anything to do with signal strength/quality

Hi,I have Kaon STB which is 7 year old.My current average signal strength is around 50-55 & average signal quality is around 70-75.I recently changed my antenna & LNB but it didn't help.I checked some threads here where some folks says that they get signal strength around 70-75.So does it has anything to do with STB as mine STB is only remaining to change.Dish tv cc guys says that it is enough to have strength of 50.I am facing pixellation problem which I already have discussed earlier in this forum.Problem is severe on Ten Action & Zee television channels.For Ten Action I get 47 signal strength.
