BSNL is making more losses than ever!

Yeah most important factor private players taking customers from BSNL atleast in Kolkata which they have missed.

there is a big scam that has not yet come to light ...one example in our area we had direct lines from BSNL .... main wire is pulled through gutters n storm drain ... with multiple joints ... 6 months back there was telephone blackout ... since then a BSNL connection is provided by a franchise which has laid its own FO cable ... this smells fishy boss ....

to benefit private sectors, govt is ignoring public sector companies. you know what has happened with air india, same is going to happen with bsnl, mtnl, ioc, ongc and all other PSU

If BSNL falls , almost half 75% of rural internet connectivity can go down. After 5 or so years , airtel and other players appearing in my nearest city , there is no other ISP in my area other than BSNL.

Somebody said that BSNL loosing customers to private player in Cal. Its not at all a local phenomenon. Its countrywide. BSNL is intentionally crippling last mile and customer response teams to benefit private players. How come the trunk network of BSNL work so well (on which all the private players piggyback their calls) and not their last mile (either wireless or wireline)? The whole system is rotten from from tip to toe. Corruption has eaten away the country everywhere, and "Mother India" weeps today.

BSNL was among the most profitable companies of the country in time of NDA government. Then came UPA/Congress government with Maran as telecom minister, then came legendary A Raja and now Mr "zero loss in 2G scam" Kapil Sibal is the telecom minister. With people like these in-charge, it is no wonder that BSNL is now among the biggest loss making company in India.

AFAIK, Maran, As the union minister he reduced mobile and landline call rates drasticaly which influenced the growth of telecom industry. And BSNL Broadband was introduced at the same time in 2005, on his tenure.
