The Wolf of Wall Street (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wolf of Wall Street is an upcoming crime drama film directed by Martin Scorsese, based on the memoir of the same name by Jordan Belfort. The screenplay is being written by Terence Winter, and the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort, along with other cast members including Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler, and Matthew McConaughey, among others. The Wolf of Wall Street will make a fifth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio. The film is set to be released in 2013, and will tell the story about a New York stockbroker, played by DiCaprio, who refuses to cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street, corporate banking world and mob infiltration.

Gonna watch it 🙂

Brilliant acting. The movie on the whole is decent Scorsese's other work is better imo.Left the cinema with no emotion and the excesses become annoying after a while. I guess that was how it was meant to be.

3 hour long movie. Gets a bit annoying in parts. Is funny in bits. I would suggest watching it at home because I have a feeling around 5-10 minutes of stuff was snipped.

12 days in this year right? 😀

Watched it last night. Brilliant movie ! I reckon the amount of cuss words used has to be a record. Also the movie has been trimmed to about 6 minutes, correct me if I'm wrong.

Not sure how many scenes were cut for the Indian theater launch. No plans to watch the uncensored version.

I would imagine that to release in India they had to cut nudity parts. There was a pretty clear cut sex scene that made it to the theater but there was no nudity from what I remember. The scene where Jonah Hill masturbates during the party in front of tens of people... I am not sure if they show it completely in the non-censored version. Without seeing the uncut version, hard to say what was in fact cut from the Indian release 😀

You are right. As per wikipedia, Wolf of Wall Street is at the top for the number of cuss words used in it. Total number of F-words is 569. [Source]

I think scorcesse tried to ripp off from his own movie."Casino" is still my all time favourite.
Nicky Santoro: I think in all fairness, I should explain to you exactly what it is that I do. For instance tomorrow morning I'll get up nice and early, take a walk down over to the bank and... walk in and see and, uh... if you don't have my money for me, I'll... crack your f**kin' head wide-open in front of everybody in the bank. And just about the time that I'm comin' out of jail, hopefully, you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what? I'll split your f**kin' head open again. 'Cause I'm f**kin' stupid. I don't give a f**k about jail. That's my business. That's what I do.
Nicky Santoro: [voice-over] A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all f**kin' night.
