Nehru Cup!
India has won for 2 consequential tournaments 2007 and 2009. I think i've watched the both, especially, can't forget 2009 show, which ended with an amazing penalty shot-out. And, this time, India has won against Syria in the very first match(also the 1st match from the new coach) of the tournament. It's going well for Indian Team.


As far as Football is concerned i watch mostly the matches with India in fray.

I was thinking why these people always have low ranked teams in Nehru Cup. But, now i know Cameroon is in top 60 or 70. First time, i have seen such a team in Nehru Cup. It's gonna be thrilling to watch now!

Nepal is higher ranked than India in FIFA Rankings! How worse can our team be!!

Will a defeat here affect their rankings, if so, I wonder why send weak teams. I can understand Cameroon or even maybe sending a weaker team. But why teams which are also struggling like India. Also, I read clubs have not released teams. So basically club is more important. I guess its proof where I-P-L & other leagues are heading cricket to.

Actually, their weak teams is capable of winning against other teams. They might have sent so because the juniors get exposure. BTW, which channel is telecasting Nehru Cup? TEN Action?

Neo Prime ;( i just unsubscribed the package about few days ago. Once i subscribe it i'll have to pay atleast for 3 months even if i dont use. Ten Action should have telecasted it. Nevertheless, i'm happy that a former-cricket channel is keen to telecast Indian Football.

Maldives 161 , Nepal 162, India 168...

I don't think Maldives/Nepal has sent their junior teams. IMO, India should have been placed much above over these two nations.

As expected India-Cameroon enter final on SUnday. Sort of dress rehearsal today.

India lost 1-0 to Cameroon B team in the league match. Very less hopes of any improvement in Finals on Sunday.

Glad someone started Indian football thread. Was searching few days ago for the nehru cup thread.So far India has managed to play very well against the 59th ranked cameroon. Even in the last match they played well even though they lost by just one goal considering main players being rested.

@ashish - India is playing the B team of Cameroon. So cannot say they are playing very well against a 59th ranked team. But yes a win will help build confidence & increase interest in the Indian team sports following. Last I heard they had tied 2-2 at end of 90 minutes. Waiting to hear the Final scores.
