The RAM is little low. I don't think 512 will be able to handle Windows 7, or will it?
 
They will probably expect people to load some low-end Linux on it or maybe older versions of Windows XP , though I guess its no longer supported.
 
XP? I have seen machines dragging their feet at 64 MB, though 256 MB should be more minimum ideal for the basic software we are bound to be using on it, 512 MB or 1 GB should do just fine. Linux, I dont have clue, but I think same as XP generation Linux should do fine as well.
