well i am not saying that. but majority of people spend on art as an investment. a few out there might be passionate and probably wants to own their favorite works of art. what i am saying was that you are not paying for the painting alone. you are paying for the value of the painting that would magnify with time. just like when you buy a premium piece of property, you are not exactly paying for the land itself, you are paying for the value of that land which would increase with time.
