I used to hide my SSID till a new laptop was bought which could not connect to my WiFi so I had posted on Intel & Microsoft forums for a solution, see the answers I got.

Are you now using Windows Connect now? My neighbors use unprotected wifi , so even if there is some hacker looking to hack into wifi in my neighborhood he will leave my wifi and go for my neighbors unprotected wifi , so i already have double protection.:sinister:

You can scan for networks with hidden ssid. Certainly doesn't make you any secure. An average user couldn't care less about your network and a hacker would relish the challenge of getting into your "hidden" network.
