Hi dovahkiin, how much does a seedbox cost? I did some google search and it seems to be hosted somewhere from where we need to pull our data through FTP. Or is it a lightweight server that can download and upload torrents that uses the same connection as the other computers.
the cost of a SB depends on the slot you take, it differs , the amt of hdd space, ram , b/w etc. a seedbox is a remote server located in data center with extreme high speed b/w to them , lowest being 100/100 mbit and going upto 10 gbps . respected seedbox sellers are feral hosting and xvirk , evoboxes , you can google them and go to their site. what you get according to your slot or your budget is a remote torrent client mostly rtorrent or deluge running 24 x7 for your seeding or buffering needs, ssh to server , ftp to download to your local pc from server. cost can be from 10 euro p/m to to 150 euro p/m depending on what you choose. or you can just buy a full server from ovh also now since they have started selling all over the world , earlier they were just selling to limited countries in e.u or leaseweb or 100tb. they are again respected d.c's . with your server you can set anything you like , cost wise again lowest from ovh is some 20 euro for a kimsufi 2g server which has amazing specs and highest can go upto 900 euro , again it all depends on specs of sever .
