What is the distance involved ? Say radius of wifi working ( 20 feet 30 feet ?expected?)
Are the rooms in different floors ?
1.
By keeping the Beetel450BXI at a higher plane, and keeping the unit's antenna
parallel to the ground rotate it for max signal at the farthest end ( Room 2)
2.
If Room 2 is at a higher height ( say 2nd floor) consider connecting wifi
router
to Phone jack ( via
ADSl splitter).
3.
If the Antenna is removable consider replacing with a higher gain 5dBi antenna
( cost Rs 400 to rs 500 approx )
4.
If some signal is picked up in wifi mode another identical Beetel450BXI can be considered
for wifi mode in WDS mode ( Check wireless menu pages ). No cable connection.
Approx cost Rs 2000/= ( or a stand alone wifi router with WDS say Rs 1500/=)
5.
In Room 1 Laptop1 download and install application "Connectify".
Check signalSSID is picked up in room No 2.
Laptop1 can be repositioned in room No 1.( connected to phone line )
Feedback. item wise only.
The rooms are on different floors.
1.) Method one doesnt improve much signal. I have also tried using a can as a parabolic antenna.
2.) The main broadband and landline connection is coming at 1st floor. The main line is already connected to a splitter which then goes to the modem and the phone line back to other rooms. Other than that I didnt get what you mentioned :-?
3.) I was hoping another router as a WAP would be easier solution and it could be used standalone as a router also later.
4.) The signal is almost non existent. I already have a lan wire between 2 rooms. Wont it be better if some router can be connected via lan and configured as access point only? How easy or difficult would that be?
5.)
Laptop has to be used at different places.
