I hope that since i get apps only from market, i can be a lot safer.

most of these reports spread FUD. if you are relying on android market and other official sources, you are very unlikely to get malware. google is already running automated scripts on the android market to ensure that no code with malware intentions is in the apps available through it. and they remotely kill malware apps that they detect were installed on user devices. an antivirus is not going to help you in case of highly specialized malware app that you might have installed from a third party source. they are mostly designed to catch regular viruses in files that you download from the internet or copy from external sources.
