Cost For New Phone Line

does anyone know the cost to install a new phone line into an apartment? I'd like DSL internet, but I need an mtnl phone line first, correct? What is the cost of the phone line?--matt

Ya i don't know if u are from delhi or mumbai...

If you are from Mumbai the i think they have reduced the new registration charge from 3000 to 1000 [tatkal = immediate]
for general it's 500

OKay, thank you Yes I am in Mumbai. I read on the internet a Tikal charge of like 29,000 Rs....and was sorta worried.

Under Tatkal why is the registration charge so much? all I want it a Broadband DSL connection. will i be charged this? I'm confused.
