😀 Anyone can do manipulation in Wikipedia to make this a sensational news 😛

Wikipedia lists Movies Now as Channel 23 & 361 for Tata Sky.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movies_Now

Check again. Movies Now as channel 23 is for Dish TV only. Because it is wikipedia we can't confirm it as official stat.

In TS it's coming in SD as channel 361 for a while now.

A friend working with TS confirmed that the testing of Movies Now HD is complete and should be getting launched soon. However, the exact date depends on their marketing team. Have personally seen the testing of Movies Now HD at his residence in Delhi. Unfortunately, don't remember the channel number. Hope it is launched soon.

Not a special dish but yes all technical people working with TS get a different set top box which is programmed for receiving the test channels. Had also visited the tech center earlier for TS located at Chhatarpur, Delhi and saw the facility myself n all channels few days back. Technical guys don't know when the channel is going to be launched as it is handled by Marketing dept in Mumbai. Just hoping it starts soon.

Any update from your friend when this will happen?

Checked with my friend again today. He informed that the testing was over. However, due to new installations of the big dish & transponders in their complex in Delhi, there is some delay happening. They are adding capacity for more HD channels, but that might take some time. The marketing team (in Mumbai) needs to decide when the Movies Now HD channel will be launched and unfortunately, he doesn't have much idea. But from technical side, the channel is ready for launch.

Hey Fusion123 can you please ask your source that how many hd channels are under testing mode & also ask him are they activating vertical polarity for increasing band-width.

Any chance that TS will show IPL 5 in HD ??
Is MAX having HD feed for IPL?

Already Movies now have good PQ, Do we need HD instead of Other popular HD channels to be added ? For me Movies Now HD should be added last after adding some other HD channels likes of ZEE Cinema HD, Colors HD Ten HD.

Indiantelevision.com > Media, Advertising & Marketing Watch > Trai reviews ad time policy for TV channels

"Trai proposes to limit the duration of the ads on a clock hour basis. No FTA channel should carry ads exceeding 12 minutes in an hour. "
"For pay channels, this limit should be six minutes"
"12 minutes of ads should not be in more than 4 sessions in one hour, Trai feels. In other words, there should be continuous airing of the TV show for at least 12 minutes each."
"Not more than three ad breaks should be allowed during telecast of a movie with the minimum gap of 30 minutes between consecutive ad breaks."
"In case of sporting events being telecast live, the regulator feels the ads should only be carried during the interruptions in the sporting action – for example, half time in football or hockey match, lunch/ drinks break in cricket matches, game/set change in case of lawn tennis etc. "

BUT BUT ....
"for which it wants to take the views of the stakeholders before framing out its recommendations"

Few details sound nice to hear - But wonder if "stakeholders" will allow it to happen
