there is a strange prob wid yahoo messenger...cant see the msgs other ppl r typing and also i cant see the msgs i m sending to them....i hv just installed win 2000.
 
check your firewall and make sure that you havent accidentally put them on ignore.. also try running ur yahoo in firewall mode by going to connection settings
 
I have this problem in trillian.Seems to show up VERY selectively - only when i'm using jabber protocol (for Gtalk) and only when trying to send IMs to certain contacts. I'm able to see their msgs, but they cant see mine...

I think you would have uninstalled and reinstalled yahoo messgr by now.Get the latest version if you dont already have it.If nothing works,get GAIM - Another messenger s/w that works with yahoo,msn etc.
