Makes a lot of sense as hydrogen is the fuel used by the Space Shuttle. I never imagined that the Shuttle launch actually resulted in rain in the surrounding areas!

Can same technology be used for artificial rain...though it cost a lot right now...but may be in future when we colonize in some other planet?

well space shuttle exhaust is not all water, the solid rocket boosters to the left and right of the main tank actually generate various exhaust products that are dissolved in the water vapour, infact one of the byproducts is hydrochloric acid which damages the surrounding environment !
