So, I tried to save money and got myself an unauthorized extended battery for my Sony camcorder...
The problem is that this thing does not really connect to where the regular battery connects.
Instead, a wire goes from the battery to the charging port which seems to work fine.
My Q is... Is this common with extended batteries for camcorders? Or this third party battery is using this system to get around Sony's proprietary chips for their batteries?
Is it safe to use the camcorder with such a system? I am assuming here that Sony's own authorized extended batteries do not use such a crappy mechanism 😀
Ignore the falling hair from my head in this picture. I did not notice them before taking the photo 😕
