Mu old BSNL modem died and i needed a new one. I decided to get a wifi one to have convenience of laptop around the home. I bough this TP-Link 8951ND and anle to connect though the LAN cable but wifi has remained a mystery. It connect but internet does not working pinging shows request timed out. Anyone who has configure TP link can help. UPDATE; model same as above with additional facilities.
Try as per post No 3 .without any authentication.
SSID 1 without any authentication SSID2 say with WEP etc.

check the encryption, they should match on router and windows (if old windows PC)..first disable all encryption and then try

I reset it to factory setting, then again made the as asked above. Then it was not working. The removed the encryption. It worked
I am not sure what encryption error i am making but removing the encryption for wireless its working. Can you suggest next steps to make it sure. I have put the connection as always on
 
try different encryptions one by one..viz WEP (weakest), WPA, WPA2 with different algorithms i.e. TKIP, AES and use what works best for u.
 
WEP is very weak for today's standards. Opt WPA2.
 

In continuation with above, I was unable to use with any of security settings, and i was using as free. Recently i tried with WPA, it worked with my office laptop where i have windows 7 but the same is not working form my home one which had windows xp. 🙁. Unable to understand why this is happening. I am even able to use wifi with my HTC wildfire S
