INSTALLATION PROCESS OF BEETEL 220 BX Combo MODEM
Note : Configuration is similar for all Operating Systems.
Modem Settings for NIC / LAN card
Default IP Address 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
IP Address 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254
DNS Server 202.56.215.6 & 202.56.230.6
1. The default IP address for ADSL MODEM is 192.168.1.1 and the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0
2. Set the computer’s LAN Card IP address in between 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.254
3. Set the default gateway as 192.168.1.1
4. Set DNS server as 202.56.215.6 & 202.56.230.6
5. Type in http://192.168.1.1 in the internet explorer and enter username as “admin” and
password as “password”.
6. After login a new page will open as shown on next page then click on WAN.
7. In WAN setup choose all the WAN interfaces by checking on remove and then click on remove.
8. Click on ADD, change the VPI to 1and VCI to 32 then click Next.
9. In the connection type, select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and select Encapsulation mode as
LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING and then click next.
10. In PPP Username and Password screen
a. Enter Username and password provided by Airtel.
b. Enter PPPoE Service name as Airtel
c. Use authentication Mode as AUTO.
d. Leave other two check boxes unchecked and click Next.
11. Click next once again and then click on Save on the next screen.
a. Click on Save/Reboot and wait for approximately 5 Mins.
12. Configuration is successful. Happy Browsing.
Note: In case USB port of the combo modem is being used, please install the hardware drivers as specified in instruction manual in Driver CD then follow steps 1 to 12 for configuration of the modem.
INSTALLATION PROCESS OF ZyXEL USB MODEM
Close all the applications that are in use.
Insert Modem drivers CD into CDROM.
Click on INSTALLATION DRIVERS on the AUTO PLAY MENU.
CLICK NEXT of the Welcome note windows
CLICK YES on the License agreement windows.
CLICK NEXT on the subsequent window.
SELECT PPPOE, VPI=1, VCI=32 on the Driver Component window.
CLICK NEXT
SELECT LLC SNAP and click NEXT.
(FOR WINDOWS 98SE / Millennium Edition)
Installation process would begin and one windows would appear flashing a message.
“If you not connected the modem yet please connect it now”
Connect the ADSL USB modem cable and PC would detect a NEW HARDWARE and would start installing the drivers automatically.
Click FINISH when completed.
PC would ask for a Reboot.
Reboot your PC.
Shortcut to Zyxel ADSL would appear on the Desktop.
Double click on Shortcut to Zyxel ADSL.
Key in Username / Password and click CONNECT.
(FOR WINDOWS 2000 / XP)
Click FINISH when completed, PC would ask for a REBOOT
REBOOT your PC and when your PC starts again plug in ADSL USB MODEM.
Windows would detect new hardware and start installing modem driver itself.
Click Continue Anyway on the hardware installation windows.
Shortcut to Zyxel ADSL would appear on the Desktop.
Double click on shortcut to Zyxel ADSL.
Key in Username / Password and click CONNECT.
