Available in both 16GB and 32GB varieties, this new slate is fueled by a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb and features a seven-inch LCD with 1024 x 600 resolution. It also packs a two megapixel front-facing camera, along with a three megapixel shooter that supports 720p video, boasts 1GB of RAM and ships with Sammy's TouchWiz UI baked-in. In terms of connectivity, you'll find support for quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G with 21Mbps HSPA and the usual smattering of Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS capabilities.

i mean i would rather spend 25% of the money on a decent wireless enabled media streamer that connects to my television set.

This new tab has no calling feature, But you can use the sim card for data polling, thus its rendered absolutely useless for calling purpose which earlier device was able to.
Yesterday I had my more than half a mind to buy a tablet, I go to THE MOBILE store and found out this fact, now I am like I want the old 7" one ( new one is 10" inches) and they say its not available and if it is its cost like 24K and this is killing sell of new tab....

I said I can order old one online for 18k WITH IMPORT DUTIES, they were speechless...
Does any body see a point in getting a tab ? IS any body out there using it ? How is you experience please share I want to buy it today only ...

Yup .. I have the old Galaxy Tab .. got it a month back .. preferred it over the new ones .. and I Love it cos of its calling features ..

Why would you need a separate media steamer .. just install mezzmo on one of your computers ... provided your TV has a LAN port .. I did it with mine .. and love the experience ..

Hi amit can you elaborate its use for your in daily life ? How do you use for what purposes( does it repalces laptop completely) and also hows the battery life ?

Hey Raj .. It does not (and cannot) replace my laptop completely ... at-least for me .. as Im a techie person and my work needs windows .. For others it might replace .. If you are looking for a laptop replacing Tablet .. I highly recommend ASUS Transformer .. but Galaxy Tab is very handy for me .. as I move/travel a lot .. so fetching and replying mails .. SMSs .. social networking .. voip calling .. Skype .. maps etc becomes pretty handy ..

I also own a Galaxy S2 phone ... and most or all of these things are possible on it too .. but Im someone who prefers a bit bigger screen for all this .. also it saves the battery of my primary phone .. The battery life Tab is excellent .. once fully charged .. I dont need to recharge it for abt 4-5 days .. and I'm a moderate user ..

okay, I am moderate user as well, Okay I do have i7500 now, nad use the same poll and reply emails, Listening to music online, downloads from market/Internet, Not into social networking I am, voip yes, using office and of course regular internet browsing which tends to be heavy sometimes since the data I am required to mine is quite technical... so tab can handle this ? I also need big screen, was temptin to get DEFY but small screen is pet peeve too. LAso is edge/2g enough or do you have to have 3g for TAB

yup Tab would take care of all of your mentioned requirements .. if you are not impatient like me .. Edge will be enough for you .. but when you notice that your pics from Picasa are taking a lot longer to load .. or the maps are not streaming fast enough .. you might wanna switch to 3G ... but yeah 3G is a battery eater .. so I turn it on only when out of my WiFi's range ..

yah used 3g on my i7500 too and I know its battery hog, But I can live with slow speeds sometimes , ometimes it fails to fetch the vids though, also tell me how is the calling I mean can you do it without bluetooth ? Moron samsung has removed calling feature from newer models...

Yeah .. calling .. by default is on speaker ... if you need you can use can use a Bluetooth
