HAI EVERYBODY, LET ME FIRST INTRODUCE MYSELF TO U.I JOINED IN THIS FORUM TODAY. AND MY QUESTION IS I BE ONE OF BSNL BROADBAND 900 UL PLUS PLAN CUSTOMER.BSNL PROVIDED HUWAEI SMART ATX 841 MODEM.BEFORE I CONNECTED MY MODEM TO MY PC THRGH USB .BUT NOW IAM USING LAN.IF I WANT NET I WANT TO CLICK THE BROADBAND CONNECTION ICON,SO THAT MY PC CONNECTS TO NET. BUT MY QUERY IS WHEN I START MY SYSTEM IT AUTOMATICALLY CONNECTS TO NET WITHOUT CLICKING ANY SHORTCUTS OR ICONS. I THINK ALL MEMBERS CAN UNDERSTAND MY PROB.IF ANYBODY HAVE SOLUTION TO MY PROB PLS TELL
 
do you have your user name & password ?
you are working with which OS ( xp / 2000 / 98 / me ) ?

from your post I understand that you are connecting
to the Net when you switch on the modem . instead
you want a shortcut on desktop to connect . if it is so
you have to configure your modem in Bridged mode
and use a dialer sw to connect to the net .

but iam not want the shortcut u misunderstand my idea.my query is without any clickings on shortcuts my pc must automatically connects to net when pc starts,like some programs automatically starts when pc starts such as startup progs.
 
so you are using a shortcut on desktop to connect
and you want automatic connection ...

you can configure your modem in PPPOE mode sothat
it automatically connects to the net whenever you switch
on the modem & disconnects when you switch off modem .

ensure that in your network properties :
default gateway --> 192.168.1.1
IP address --> 192.168.1.xxx ( xxx = 2 to 255 )
subnet mask --> 255.255.255.0
DNS -->61.1.96.69 and 61.1.96.71

this time also u misunderstand
SEE I DIDN'T WANT ANY CLICKINGS WHEN MY PC STARTS UP I AUTOMATICALLY CONNECTS TO NET[WITHOUT ANY CLICKINGS] THAT'S MY QUERY
 
Hi Guys,One polite request to Mr.Reddy, Please try not to use Capitals in your response. It's at times bit offending. 🙂 try to use other options to highlight what you wish to highlight as text.Please clearify, do you want to connect to internet automatically when you start up your pc or not ?-pranKster.

Friend , thats what I tried to respond in the 2nd reply .
If you configure your modem in PPPOE method then you
need not click on anything to connect to the net . you just
need to switch on your modem . thats it !

BTW , where are you Located ? if in Hyderabad ,
give me your address thru e-mail on my profile .
 
sorry seshu, u be correct.iam from tenali.but i didn't knw my ip addr.i select the automatically select the IP address option and selected the automatically obtain the DNS address. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------i don't knw the ip address and dns adress what i can do.can u tell me-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------pls give u'r msil id.so that we can talk tgh yahoo mess or gtalk so that my prob will be solved.
 
I'd suggest to not post email IDs on the forums .
instead they can be given on the profile .

One Helpfull trick to know your current IP:1. For Windows go to Run, type CMD (or command), press [ENTER].2. From Command Prompt, ie. C:\, Type ipconfig /all.This will inform you of all the Network details like Adapters in use and IP Address attatched to them.-pranKster.
