What exactly is frostwire!?

i recently came across this software and i downloaded it...seems like a torrent client...but even if am not downloading anything...it shows net activity..so deleted it....so i want your opinion...is it safe?
 
its more of a P2P client than a torrent client!!!have you heard of limewire......its same as that!
 
It is a client that connects you to the Gnutella p2p network. Much like how limewire was. I don't know if linewire still exists as a file sharing software though
 
Gnutella network is older then torrents , something on which Napster used to run , limewire was closed more then a year ago , frostwire always there as a better and free version of limewire, dunno as best as i know the gnutella network was also shut down by devs some time back so it is strange frostwire was running !!
 
I read a few days ago that from the next release frostwire will become only a torrent client and will drop gnutella support.
 
frostwire is the crappy version of limewire.not worth using it.
