Anarkali was real but story that she was burried in wall alive, that has several versions.

ya there was also a rumour that Anarkali was actually Akbar's wife...

nope she wasn't real nor was she Akbar's wife its just a legend, plus all the language that we see in the film is also a figment of the writers imagination..these are just commercial films they dont always reflect real history..another film on Mughal era by gowarikar showed Jodha Bai as wife of Akbar, the historical fact is that Jodha bai was the name of Jahangir's wife.

when Jodha Akbar was released ...lot problem becz of that..as in the movie they showed jodha bai was Akbars wife..even in Mughal-e-Azam it was same...

What?? Jodha Bai was mother of Jahangir. Why r u guys mixing things?

^ its the films that have got u mixed up..a.s i said before these are not historical documentaries just commercial flicks to make money they may/may not contain the truth

^ so quickly read up on wikipedia etc eh? now its not so startling...is it?...there was no wife of akbar called jodha bai...jodh or jodha is the same thing..some might call jodha as jodh.

Her name as recorded in Mughal chronicles was Mariam-uz-Zamani. This is why the mosque of Mariyam Zamani Begum was constructed in Lahore, Pakistan, in her honour. She has been also referred to as Jodha Bai or Jodhabai.

The issue is that one community of Rajput is objecting to this.

----------

But great great grandson of Akbar says he has paintings of Jodha-Akbar

Tucy: Jodha Akbar were married

u became aware of the issue because some Rajput community objected to it or u read it up on wikipedia etc.. but irrespective of any community protesting or stuff on the internet or what is shown in films..real history can be different..u learn that from reading real historical accounts

Look Akbar if real in the history it means Anarkali also a real part of the history. Right.

Yes, but where is the proof? When Royal's of Rajasthan and great great grandson of state that Jodha-Akbar existed, who to believe?

----------

@cyberwiz: did u see the video?

Plus, why all those controversy arise only before movie release?

And why those Rajput's are no more pushing to correct the errors.

I feel that that controversy was part of film publicity and nothing else.

Its no where that Anarkali was burried alive, not in the Mughal-e-aazam also. He died due to her natural death and was burried in lahore.

@amish.. lolz self proclaimed grt-grandson of Mughals..last time i checked the last remaining descendants of BS zafar were selling vegetables at jama masjid in delhi..there are scores of people who claim to be descendants of mughal emperor's / families !
