In India 4G is not launched service Provider are just selling improvised version of 3G as 4G. If you guys have noticed in Airtel network now a days there 3G service not so good as earlier it was they are selling 2.5G as 3G and 3G as 3G Platinum and 3G Platinum as 4G so guys please beware of it i am telling this all because Airtel is not having such mechanism which can provide 4G service because 4G speed is around 1GBits and what they are giving as 4G is not more than 100mbits

I thought this conspiracy thread was made by warthog.

There is no Fiber internet (FTTH) in India. They are using copper wires and claiming that its OFC.

There is no MTNL. MTNL was purchased by Airtel long ago. People just don't know it yet. RJio has started its services nationwide since 2014. Its a secret how to get RJio.

I thought 1gbps was 5G

This guys already have 4G in India!!!

I already had this thread in 2012 😀

BTW we all need to know that 3G, 3.5G, 4G (or 5G) are just marketing terms assigned to certain technologies. Its not certain that 5G would be 1Gbps, it may be more or less according to technology evolved after 4G.
Now whether we have 4G now, or not depends upon what technology is used by 4G operators right now. If they are indeed using LTE, then its surely 4G. But if they are using HSPA then its 3G.

This is what I m getting on Airtel 4g
Its indeed a 4G network but service is not consistent

ouch how much data that speedtest used? Havn't seen such high speed on Airtel 4G yet. Max I could get is 22-24mbps.

I am using Airtel4g in mumbai..speed is a not a big deal i get speed more than 40mbps most of the time..but I doesn't feel speed while browsing..I mean I doesn't find any difference while browsing on reliance 3g & Airtel4g

Well you could have felt the diff if latency had dropped which can't be seen in your speedtest.
Don't know who to blame airtel 2300 band in mumbai or less no towers.

Yes OP is 100% correct.. Airtel just now joined hands with OnePlus, not just for OP2 invites, but also for calling everything with extra 1.. They are saying 2G as 1+ 2G = 3G and then 3G as 1+ 3G = 4G..

So yes, its both OnePlus and Airtel, jointly doing such mischief...
