Is everyone else having this problem? I have a Trump sim card from MTNL, I've activated 3G, I've entered the correct APN settings (apn: mtnlppsmum; username: mtnl; password: mtnl123) in my Samsung Galaxy (Android) phone, and I'm constantly seeing the notification that I'm receiving a 3G or HSDPA signal. AND YET ...1. My speed tests consistently get between 460 and 490 kbps (download) and between 200 and 230 kbps (upload).2. If I listen to streaming audio, the connection constantly drops, the audio stops, and I get a message reporting data usage since the last drop (ten minutes ago), as if I had disconnected the data session on purpose.3. These conditions never change, no matter what time of day or where I am in Mumbai.I also have a Vodafone sim card for 3G and when I use it, it consistently gives me thrice the speed, and never disconnects. What's the deal? Is MTNL chopping up the data connections on purpose? Do I have to activate HSDPA? Is everybody's 3G speed capped on MTNL? If so, why? Why does it have to suck so terribly? Please help. I really can't afford the Vodafone plan, or anybody else's for that matter. If you are getting good 3G service on your phone through MTNL in Mumbai, please tell us what you've done to get it.
