Today there was no scheduled disconnection after 6 hours and the session went for more than 7.5 hours continuous.

It could have gone even more but as I was using the night unlimited period I had to disconnect it.

Is it something wrong on MTNL's part or have they upgraded their system?

confirmed last night...still the same 6 hr disconnection system for me

for me too, yesterday it was 6hrs. i.e. no change.

I think it was a technical glitch on MTNL's side. Today the session was back to 6 hours at a stretch.

I recently got MU premimum account but the problem is with MTNL that it disconnects every 6 hours and the download manager does not resume the download once it disconnects it does not happens with torrents since it uses P2P protocol

It disconnects after 6 hrs because the ip address is assigned to you by DHCP server which renews your ip address every 6 hrs.and hence the disconnection. therefore, i suggest you that you download large files using p2p. use download managers only where it supports resumable link.

Same problem here also using 4Mbps Unlimited Plan with Static IP disconnects every 2 to 4 hours. Getting log SNMP TRAP Link: UP and SNMP TRAP LINK: UP 🙁HELP!!!!

Static IP wont have problem because, it will just pause the downloads for few seconds and it will resume automatically (over IP layer) even if ur server/client doesnt support resuming.

But it disconnect you for a 3 seconds even if you have static IP 🙁
