I just bought a Sony dvd HTS dav-dz120k. It says that it has in-built copyright protection. So what are the media that i will not be able to play in the system?

There is a list of incompatible media given in my manual but it is a little hard to understand.
can this play back my personal compilations?
can anyone throw some light on this ?

from their DVD compatibilty info ...i cant seem to find your model

going by a similar model (DAV-DZ100 say) it seems only DVD-R (VR) & DVD-RAM is not playable. But thats got nothing to do with copyright protection more like it cant read those discs at all.

Other than that i think your model should be able to handle
DivX,
DVD-R/+R/+R DL/+RW/-RW/-RW (VR),
CD-R / CD-RW Playback/ J-PEG Playback/ MP3 Playback
