HYDERABAD: Sistema Shyam Teleservices, a joint venture company between Russia’s Sistema and India’s Shyam Group, is planning to enter the market
with an initial public offer (IPO), and hopes to firm up plans in the next 6-9 months, according to Vsevolod Rozanov, president & CEO of Sistema Shyam.

The company, which has spectrum to provide mobile telephony services in 22 circles, also plans to launch smart phones in CDMA technology by April this year in the circles where it currently operates. “We are now testing it in the existing circles and may launch it bundled with CDMA ranging between Rs 5,000 and Rs 30,000,” he said. The brand MTS through SSTL also plans to complete its Indian rollout by the end of this year. In South, the operator is present in all states except Andhra Pradesh, where it will launch in the next three months. It also hopes to reach out to customers in Haryana, Maharashtra and Goa in the next few months. MTS has launched services in 11 circles with over three million subscribers. Of the clutch of states it currently operates in, Rajasthan has the largest subscriber base, with around one lakh customers.
