Can you lay down some details .... what exactly do you have in mind.

k.....i hav connected my modem and pc via ethernet port....now i wanted to know whether i can search and connect to wi-fi networks using my wi-fi modem......PS: i dont hav wi-fi adapter in my pc

Yes you can use a wirless router as a WiFi adapter.

You do not require a separate WiFi PCI adapter on your PC in order to share data between PC and other wireless devices if your pc is connected to the WiFi router through the ethernet RJ45 interface.

I too had this query in my mind till a few days back, I did some asking around ........ and now Im desperately looking to purchase a low cost (even used) WiFi router.

All the WiFi devices detected by your WiFi router will be displayed in your wLan.

but wats the SSID i hav to specify in the router??Cant i search wi-fi networks with diff SSID from my router
