Help Regarding MTNL GPRS Settings for HTC

Hi..

I am trying to connect my HTC WM6.5 based phone to internet via gprs. I have installed these settings.

Following Settings are under Modem settings. :

Connection name : MTNL GPRS
Access Point Name : gprsmtnldel



And Following settings under proxy -> wap proxy settings

Wap Server : 172.16.31.10
Port : 9201
Username : mtnl
Password : mtnl123

But cannot connect to the net. The phone tries for a while then shows "Could not connect due to unknown reasom"

Than I check for settings again, the password I entered had automatically changed to a 12 letter word.

Please help me configuring windows mobile.
 
Are you on prepaid? If yes, you must activate GPRS on your Windows Mobile phone. Then, it will only work IF your balance is greater than Rs 50.

Did you got any success with MTNL GPRS?

My MTNL 3G is not working for last few days now. My earlier setting were quite simple however not working anymore.

Connection name : MTNL
Access Point Name : pps3g

Username : mtnl
Password : mtnl123
 
Hi Anku, I read your post and i am wandering if you have succeeded in getting the right setting for HTC windows 6.5. I am using HTC HD2 with trump prepaid connection based at south delhi. I have been trying one setting after another for gprs/3g connection as mtnl has no specific setting for my mobile. I would be glad if you share your thoughts on this. Hope to hear from you soon.
 
here is the process for Gprs/3g setting for mtnl prepaid users in HTC HD2 windows 6.5.1. go in settings/connections/connections (custom rom so some shortcuts might be different)2. advanced tab.select networksboth boxes select MTNL GPRS. if it doesnt show that in drop box then we first make those settings then u select. ok ok and out.. 3. tasks tabshould show u MTNL GPRS.(if step 2 worked)manage existing connectionsgeneral tab - name - MTNL GPRSmodem tab - MTNL GPRS - name MTNL GPRSmodem - cellular line(GPRS, 3G) (dont worry if you dont have the option for 3G here. You can switch on the 3G in the connection manager if you are using either elegancia or energie rom)nextaccess point namegprsppsdel ----- this is for delhil prepaid (for mumbia use gprsppsmum)gprsmtnldel ----- this i guess is for postpaid.nextusename - mtnlpassword - mtnl123finishvpn tab ---- blank (if something is given here, delete it. leave this blank)proxy settings tabtick mark -- this network connects to the internetdont tick mark -- this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internetso no proxy settingssoft reset and now try using the internetit works like a charm. I have been using this setting for quite some time now and it works perfectly 🙂Tips: Use Opera 10. It works much faster and better!!!
