Hi,

I'm facing a issue that i'm not able to browse some sites (e.g, www.devnetwork.net) from my Home (Home 500 Dataone), it gives the error page cannot be displayed.

I'm able to browse this site from my office.

Can any one help me how to rectify this problem?

Regards,

The error message is:

In firefox (Windows & Linux)
Connection to server www.devnetwork.net failed (The server is not responding.)

In IE (Windows)
Connection to server www.devnetwork.net failed (The server is not responding.)

Try this command:

nslookup www.devnetwork.net

Does that work? OR do you get an error like "DNS timed out"

At least with MTNL, this problem occurs sometimes due to their slow DNS servers.

i'm having a much similar sort of problem... some times some sites just refuse get opened up... even google.co.in , mail.yahoo.combut it has never yet happened that none of the sites open... in any given session some will open and some wont. then i'll have to again re-login to have an altogether 2 new sets of sites , one which are accessible and ones which give an error "server not found".ive tried ...1) rebooting the pc2) restart of the Dsl Modem3) RESET of the modem4) also various combiantions of the abovealso a couple of times DSL server just refused to authenticate my user name password for around half an hour. i'm a newbie. i searched for the above keywords in the forum but didnt find any thread... 🙁btw... DNS server IP addresses are configured

well even installing a DNS server on ur computer will help in quickly resolving sites that u frequntly visit. But every time u type in a new URL which u have not used previously the software will still need to look up a dns server on the web.U can try 4.2.2.1 as ur preferred DNS its pretty reliable.

No it wont, it has its own database of URLs which can be updated when required.
