Whoever it be, the TDSAT or TRAI or any Body, they are not doing us any favour or give concessions or scholarships or donations or charity. The are in fact minting money from us in the name of providing these amenities. In fact, if they are really sensible and educated, they can work out a proper strategy and get the country on the threshold of IT BOOM and flood the exchequer with enough funds. We have a population of more than 100 Crore. Taking on an average of 5 persons per household, comes to about 20 Crore houses out of which only 4 crore has phone connections. of these 4 crore households we can estimate only 10 percent have capacity for broadband which works out to 40 lakh. Even if they charge Rs.100.00 per month for basic tariff scheme, they get about 480 crores. If they want to increase the earnings, they can increase the penetration of broadband by giving faster connections, say connections across the counter. thus they can try to cover about 1 crore connections soon and earn an annual target of Rs.1,000 Crores by charging merely Rs.100 per connection per month. (correct me if I am wrong, I am mathematically very brilliant ?)It will help the country, even if they undergo any losses. We do not have any servers and it is still foreign countries which host them, Imagine some years back when one had to pay Rs.15,000 per annum to just connect a Fax machine to the phone line or to PC modem. The authorities are always at permanent sleep mode and only if people like Sam Pitroda who has to wake them up every now and then. All requests, emails, blogs are mere futile waste of energy and has only dead ends.
