We have a bsnl broadband connection with pppoe mode on WA3002-g1 ADSL MODEM. We cannot open some sites, namely Sign In and INDIAN RAILWAYS PASSENGER RESERVATION ENQUIRY. However after setting the MTU value to 1492 we can now open Yahoo! like before.

BSNL helpdesk suggested us to connect using bridge mode but we are not getting internet on the other systems although the Internet Gateway exists. Tried opendns as suggested

My friends cybercafe has a same connection but on a iball adsl2+ modem. and these above mentioned websites are opening prefectly.

Any Solution????

1. Tried opendns ? 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222

2. Tried in Lan mode or WIFI mode ?

3. TEST railways site here . http://tinyurl.com/2qa2r

4. Check your Browser settings / Windows firewall or other firewall program. .

5. If IE try FireFox 3.0.6

Para two : BSNL suggestion for Bridged mode is to keep all
ports open.

6. In modem check Access control page.

once you setup bridged mode and you configure a dialer.. you need to setup internet connection sharing all over again.. just run the network setup wizard.. and as the source from where internet is coming , choose the dialer

.
......
......However after setting the MTU value to 1492 we can now open Yahoo! like before.

What is MTU setting?
How to set MTU value to 1492?

TIA.

I tried nearly all MTU values from 1492 backwards. yahoo opens only at 1492 ??? common any fix?? I don't wanna connect using bridge mode ... I prefer PPPoE for specific reasons ... bridge mode is the last resort ... will it resolve the issue 😡

So what can I do now ... I heard changing the modem and taking a different type like SL 241 works

I have sorted the problem using bridge mode ..... but the thing is that I want PPPoE mode on my lan ... What the hell should I do?

WA3002
try again !

I have the same above mentioned settings ... only MTU is set to 1492 coz http://www.mail.yahoo.com opens up only with mtu=1492

One more thing can u give a guide on creating a bridge connection and sharing it on lan ... i did it ... but some systems don't connect ot the internet

1.is there an entry for MSS ? range is up to 1452 and default is 0
2.Either enable DHCP in modem/router or follow this guide.
3In all computers ( TCP/IP properties)
enter IP value for each system
4 or select
obtain IP address automatically
5.
WA3002-g1 (Type-II) ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION
6.
confirm number of computers involved Desktop /laptop.

In "Bridged" connection the main computer should be kept on
always, for WIFI to work

No entry for MSSObtain Ip address automatically is set on all eight client computersDHCP is enabledMTU is set to 1492I want the steps for configuring bridge on my lan
