i think the reason is that it might be a business plan with many users, and chances of taking up lots of data is higher.for home users "unlimited" means "kind of unlimited but not really"... any isp does not expect home user to use as much as a business 🙂

mtnl's funda is simple..they want to keep the home user plans separate from the plans for office use. they don't want to provide cheap internet to offices at any cost. so they put download limits on their 2mbps plans and give unmetered download only at night which is useless for most companies.mtnl thinks 2mbps unlimited is only required by offices and not home users so they want to charge rs20000 for it.

umm... business users have always been charged more. airtel does the same so does bsnl...home users are the little profit segment and hence no need giving them similar packages at affordable prices.

i am sure 849 NU home user wud be downloading more than corporate users.

ur underestimating corporate environments... network administrators are human beings too with slow net connections at home. 🙂

did anyone notice something... its only "2 Mbps"... The word "upto" is missing... will MTNL live up to what it has said?

this means "upto" word costs about Rs. 20000 😛

and another stupid thing they have done is that they have still kept the "DSL Premium" Plan available. Who would be so dumb to buy a plan that costs 43k and has a limited 70GB downloads when u have an unlimited plan for 20k!!!MTNL ki jai ho!!!
