With its new association with Apple starting this year, the world’s largest microprocessor maker Intel is now unveiling the launch of a totally new brand image for itself. The company is now discarding its popular ‘Intel Inside’ punch line for a new one to reflect its future goals. The new tagline for the company is ‘Leap Ahead’ and the company plans to change its logo to represent the changing markets of the company as well.

The latest rumors in the market are amusing indeed. Early this year, Apple Computers shocked the IT industry by announcing that they were switching from the IBM’s PowerPC platform to Intel architecture and the first Macs powered by Intel would arrive in 2006. Now, the latest speculation in the market is that Apple has assigned Intel to develop motherboards for their Macintosh computers.

did they say that they were switching to the x86 platform? IMO they just said they would be partnering with intel on the hardware front because of its massive fabrication facilities.

Yes, international prices are reduced ... not that you did notice if you visited http://www.pricewatch.com/cpu/
Even today, I find prices have yet to be properly marked down.

The following link gives the actual reduction:

However, how does it help us folks in Mumbai. Even currently the prices for D820, D920 and such like are like they have just been introduced. All want to DOUBLE their money for every sale. Ebay-India is the worst.

Wonder when local supply will match international prices (maybe with a ten percent premium). Getting items form Dubai or Hongkong is not acceptable since warranty problems will drive one mad.
