Try this with a better ISP, I think you have a site with PHP etc.

Your site would be hosted with 10 mbps or 100 mbps connection.

Try downloading a single file with curl and then try downloading multiple files from the same server.

I tried this on a VPS account (downloading a file with browser and with a Download manager) and this was the result:

On unthrottled servers, I get same speeds in both casses. But most servers need to throttle 🙁
 
whoa! Which connection are you using? 27KBps is understandable for your NU but 144KBps?! 😱
 
Thanks waterloo......seems MTNL is better than Airtel and Sify in this respect......

Both are on a VPS that has a 100 mbps connection to net. Simlar to any webhosting provider.
