Ethernet or USB

Guys,Very similar 2 my prev poll I again needed 2 know how u connect ur ADSL modem. I currently connect it via USB...coz I currently dont want 2 spend on a LAN Card. Plz let me know ur feedback........Thnx in advance

I dont own a Triband connection but I guess it would be through ethernet...

lol neither... its connected to my wifi router and despite that the bridge mode works fine

hey guys, does the router connected to Ethernet really maximize the download speed then it being on the USB port..??i m using USB since i also own a pacenet connection (xlusively for my DC hub) which connects to ethernet..

u get a lower latency when u use ethernet. using usb u get a response from ur rtr at a speed >10ms & using ethernet it is abt

baudhayan, is that your observation or speculation? Because USB 1.1 and 2 are much faster than the speeds that pacenet provides. The latency can't be as high as 10ms even for the USB connection...

its my observation. i have 3 operating systems installed in my pc & in all d 3 i found this result after connecting modem via lan & usb.

Nerver used a USB router, but 10ms seems to much to me. Maybe your cable or interface is too noisy. Can any other USB user report his/her ping stats?

i use a usb coz USB IS good! but if you have a Printer and Webcam (like me)then you run outta ports...so ethernet. is an obvious choicebut i heard usb is supposed to be faster?

i use ethernet portusb is slower than ethernet+ ive heard u get quite a few disconnections on usb

It does not matter which one is Faster.. after all we are talking about just 256 kbps of data xfter speed, both can handle much better speeds.
