The news is finally out! Ford has announced that they would be launching their new premium mid-sized sedan ‘Fiesta’ by November this year in the Indian market. The company has been developing a car for the Indian market since quite sometime now but few details were out related to it. Their were some scoop pictures shown in the auto magazines on this vehicle but now its pretty clear that the company would be branding the car Fiesta.

Ford India Managing Director and President, Mr Arvind Mathew said in a statement about this announcement: “The Fiesta would be positioned at the top end of the mid sized sedan segment, while Ikon remains at the entry level of that segment.” This model would be made available in both petrol and diesel variant though no details have been revealed about the pricing of these cars.

The most awaited vehicle from the Ford brand in India is finally out. Ford India has finally launched the hot sedan Ford Fiesta in the Indian market. The company aims to corner a larger share of the fast growing mid-size segment and garner the much-needed volumes. They also claimed that India happens to be at the top of their priority list when it comes to expanding their operations outside the United States.

Ford Motor Company Chairman and CEO Bill Ford said in a statement during the launch: ‘’As we accelerate our effort to meet the global challenges of our business, I have emphasized the importance of optimizing our global footprint by investing in areas that are growing. India is right at the top of that list.”

Ford India has finally unveiled their pricing structure for the recently launched Ford Fiesta. They have targeted the segment consisting of very popular cars like Chevrolet Optra and Honda City. They have strategically priced the base model of the car at a competitive Rs. 5.59 lakhs. Ford Fiesta would have four variants available for sale in the retail market.

As for prices of the variants… The 1.6-liter petrol (ZXI model) would be priced at Rs 6.29 lakhs, the 1.6-liter petrol (SXI model) at Rs 6.89 lakhs, while the top-end 1.4-liter diesel would be available at Rs 6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Interestingly, Ford plans to sell both the models in equal numbers. Generally, consumers prefer to go for the diesel variant if the prices and performance are impressive. In this particular case, they are.

I'd go for the Maruti Baleno coz I own one... 😛Apart from that I guess no other car can match the Baleno... I did abt 155Km/h @ 5500 RPMThe car was like perfectly under control... keeping in mind the company made tires and no Engine Tune-Ups with jus New 13" HR Alloy wheels changed...Well we had a tough competition with the Hyundai Verna but it lost to me in the race... 😛Fiesta well I guess would be like Ford Ikon.... Aveo never rode one yet!!

well accent is(now 'was' 🙁 ) much more value for money than verna......thats why the pulled it back :angry:
 
not the GLE(base) model.....only the CRDI is there......production of gle has stopped ...though they r gonna bring it back but with a revised price tag......thats wot i've heard.
