Up until Sunday I was able to use a small SIP device in Mumbai to call my parents at home. The device is fairly simple a phone which hooks up to the ADSL connection. Since they have no computer, the device is pretty much stand alone.
Since Sunday the device is no longer able to register with the SIP provider (proxy01.sipphone.com)...
Does anyone with BSNL Broadband have the ability to check whether the IP of proxy01.sipphone.com is blocked in some way or whether this is a DNS resolution problem. Basically can you ping to proxy01.sipphone.com and does the name proxy01.sipphone.com resolve...
I have also openend a ticket with sipphone for this.
They have a nice skype-killer called gizmoproject (http://www.gizmoproject.com/)... check it out.
Thanks a lot,
Deepak
