Reliance Wimax Broadband: Wimax with Vista

Hi All,I am using reliance wimax broadband service. There are some problems associating with this. since it uses DHCP , my machine which uses Windows Vista is not able to get default gateway and dns server names. It is working fine with the service engineers machine which has windows XP . I had used it for few days with some different cable which got broken. Now they came and gave me the yellow cable to connect from modem to my machine. Its not able to get the default gateway with this. Any solutions to this problem. The service engineers who came after I made the complaint are of the view , that there is problem with Vista OS. They are asking me to change the OS to XP , which is not possible for me since I have this Licensed, so I cant downgrade it to XP. Any suggestion would be of great help.
