I just hope there is overtaking going on. The first race was quite boring IMO.

Kubica sets early pace in Melbourne

Friday, 26 March 2010 03:15

Renault’s Robert Kubica was the surprise pacesetter in Friday’s first practice session at a sunny Albert Park, shading Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg by 0.2s.

Potentially large differences in fuel loads once again made the times hard to interpret meaningfully, but Kubica and Rosberg were among the quickest throughout and both appeared to have well-balanced cars around the tricky low-grip parkland circuit.

Practice 2: Lewis heads McLaren 1-2

Friday, 26 March 2010 07:13

Lewis Hamilton headed a McLaren one-two in a rain-affected second practice session at Albert Park.

Intermittent light rain made it difficult for the drivers to establish a rhythm, but Hamilton and team-mate Jenson Button made the most of an early dry spell to stamp their authority.

Schu optimistic about Mercedes's form

Friday, 26 March 2010 00:00

Michael Schumacher believes Mercedes has reasons to be optimistic about its W01’s potential in Australia after ending the disrupted opening day near the top of the times.

With the opening session at Albert Park punctured by two red flag periods, and the second on-off rain showers, Schumacher was only able to complete 35 laps in total on his first day of driving at the bumpy circuit since 2006.
