Hello,Dataone broadband connection as per BSNL deffination is "always-on" and as givne in there FAQ, which is given below.3 What is always-on service? Will there be call charges? Always-on means that the ADSL broadband sets up a permanent connection to the internet that lets you access the internet as soon as you switch on the computer and the modem. You do not need to dial up like when you are using a standard modem connection. There will be no call charges for Internet access but voice calls will be charged as before. When I switch on my PC and ADSL modem supplied by BSNL, I need to dial (as I did for dial-up connection) for getting the connection and many a times it takes long time. Then why they should say always-on connection? Nitin

You can configur modem by using 192.168.1.1 so that you dont need to dail into a connection every time.
