‘Hawkeye’ Disney Plus Series Eyes Hailee Steinfeld for Lead Role (EXCLUSIVE)
Hailee Steinfeld could soon be part of the Marvel family. Variety has learned exclusively from sources that Steinfeld has been offered a lead role in the upcoming “Hawkeye” series at Disney Plus.

Should Steinfeld join the series, she would play Kate Bishop. Bishop is a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Clint Barton (Renner). She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers. It was reported last week that Jonathan Igla is attached to write and executive produce the series.

It looks like Hawkeye will lose his hearing either in the show or somewhere between the events of Endgame and this series. Hawkeye has remained deaf for the most part in various comics over the years. The reasons for his hearing loss keep changing but his wearing the hearing aid remains constant. You can see him wearing the hearing aid in the trailer.

And it looks like Hawkeye and his family are on a trip to watch the broadway show - Rogers, The musical. The dance routine in the trailer seems to be from the musical itself.

And finally, there's a rumor that Kingpin will return and be played by the same actor ( Vincent D'Onofrio ) who played him in the Netflix Daredevil show.

So, apparently, even though the series has only 6 episodes, Marvel will release 2 episodes so that it doesn't collide with Boba Fett which comes out on December 29.
