Hathway Broadband has blocked access to reddit.com

So I have to use Cloudflare DNS to use reddit

If the block is through dns... It is pretty terrible implementation plus could be just a bad configuration.

Any how, always use Google DNS or Cloudflare DNS on Hathway.

They are known to have poor routing. A lot of users have complaint that they have routing issues for last 1 year now.

for android both 1.1.1.1 and Intra are options. for ios devices, 1.1.1.1 is a good option.

And, If no.. Do you have apps installed on your phone/pc/tablets specifically to make it work?

Third, is there any benefits of using these DNS over the Excitel's? Are you seeing better browsing and pings?

yes you can. but for mobile devices you cannot rely just on your home router. because those would not work when you are on cellular networks.

android pie has internal support for private dns so you don't need to install additional apps.

excitel does not let you use third party dns unless you use encrypted dns. all unencrypted queries are processed by excitel even if your devices are set to use third party dns.

excitel's own dns is logically likely to give you better performance on services peered with them but i haven't really noticed any difference in performance.
