Since the new rules are driving up the costs, I want to wait for sometime till the DTH market settle because I believe the prices will come down after some time.

I am not recharging my DTH account till that happens so maybe 2-3 months, my balance has already expired and its in negative Rs. 1.43. So, I am guessing my account will be suspended soon but i have two questions:-

1. Will Airtel continue to deduct the balance from DTH account hence driving up the balance in negative?

2. How long can I keep my DTH account in a suspended state?

If someone knows the answer then that would be great. Don't want to tip off Airtel by contacting Customer care.

Solution
  1. No, the connection would deactivate once the daily deduction isn't possible from your ac balance.
  2. You can keep it deactivated as long as you want. There is no time limit.

Solution
Correct. On point #2, no need to confuse it with mobile prepaid where the mobile number is unavailable and is back to the pool after a user doesn't recharge for a prolonged period. This is especially true for fancy numbers.

My airtel account has been deactivated many times after balance went negative.

Whenever I wanted to activate it - I would add 150Rs.

They would deduct 15Rs (or 25?) as reactivation charges. And account starts again.

Sometimes airtel itself calls and waives of re-activation charges and also offers lower plans.

My balance keeps on increasing in negative. Yesterday it was -1.43 today its -8.53. How long they are going to keep deducting from my balance?

I had once max of -22 in my airtel account and one day they reverted back the balance to 0. I don't think they will keep deducting for a long time... probably they are giving you option of keeping your connection active for few grace days.

Their programmed softwares have probably all gone haywire with all these changes. What usually happens is once it goes into negative, the account gets suspended and we can't view any channels

If your program keys (to decrypt content) are not erased by satellite when account is suspended (say because ur STB was off) .. then you can continue to see the channels for few days till keys are erased next time or till keys expire on their own.
